Hey guys! I plan on starting the whole 30 meal plan in about a month, September 26th. I'm doing it with two others, and planned to start after their birthdays, and before mine. I've been reading articles and bookmarking recipes. Articles talking about how to order at restaurants, and foods against the rules being hidden in restaurants have been interesting reads as well. I'm interested to see how I hold up haha! I love ice-cream, and baked goods. I'm a huge diary and sugar lover so its gonna be tough. I love avocado, chicken, and zucchini though, avocado and zucchini I wish I ate more of anyway.
I've always been interested in taking a break from processed foods. I eat fairly healthy already, (organic/all natural) but just because those potato chips and cheese puffs are Organic doesn't mean its good for you right. Anyway, when I found whole 30 I recruited a few others, and now I have a plan. I'm excited to see if it makes any huge changes.
Anyway, share recipes, and chat about your whole 30 journey here!

I don't do whole 30, but the way I feed my family is based on "whole foods", so minimal processed foods (pasta is the only thing I buy on a regular basis that's prepared), no sugar (we use honey or maple syrup) and I make our own yogurt, cheese, bread, etc. My kids are so healthy. I have 4, all under age 6, and they've only been sick a handful of times, and I've never had to take them to the doctor for sickness, only wellness check ups. 😍
Be prepared for some major withdrawal and cravings for the bad stuff! When I got pregnant for the first time 7 years ago was when I started eating a lot healthier, and there were some days I thought I was going to go nuts because of the sugar addiction. It's more addicting that cocaine!

Good luck! I look forward to reading your updates in the future.

I almost forgot about this thread!
We bumped up the date a week sooner, so I've got a week until it starts. I'm very excited, but also think that its gonna be a lot harder then I thought. ;)
Doing meal prep this week! Stalking the freezer with creative versions of lasagna, and chicken noodle soup. Also prepping breakfast egg cups, and stalking up on lots of Whole 30 approved foods. I'll keep updating, hopefully others join!

I've read a lot about how really, truly, bad sugar is for us. One person called it "this century's tobacco."
Totally! When you start Whole 30, you sometimes to get what they call, "carb flu", because of cutting out the sugar. Your body is SO good at using sugar for energy, that your body doesn't know how to use natural sources for energy, like fat. So your body goes into a faze for a few days or a week, during the transition from sugar to fat.
I think its gonna be a lot harder then I think.
