What bothered me was the selling of cornish rock crosses for pets. I'm more than happy to stand corrected because I don't know anything about meat birds but as a pet do cornish rock crosses have much of a future? Don't they grow super fast and aren't meant to be around long after 6-8 weeks? Sounds like it wouldn't be a great first impression of the joys chicken ownership for a kid or family. I see Ideal offers dyed males of light colored breeds also.

im not sure about the cornich x i tough they used leghorns but like you i am not 100% sure on that

Does anyone know how long they stay coloerd? I can just see the kids that get them being over it after the chicks lose their color.

they stayed color till their feathers grow in and they loose their fuzz
