Anybody cross ameraucanas and barred rocks - please read here...

I crossed them - barred rock hens with ameraucana roo.

I ended up with three black (with no white/yellow on their heads) and two that look more like ameraucana but they are ORANGE. This surprised me... anyone else have similar results or did I somehow mix up what kind of eggs they were!

Now that I remind myself with RIR chicks look like - I think I accidentally had RIR crossed with ameraucanas for two of the eggs... one of my RIR hens must be laying a darker egg than the other two.

The "orange" chicks - they look alike except one has red on it's beak... it has to be a RIR... the other three are definitely barred rock crosses...
