My hens produce about 7 to 10 dozen eggs a week. I live in tourist / retiree / hippie-transplant rural area so there is a lot of demand for farm fresh eggs. My eggs are not organic. At the supermarket the organic brown eggs are going for a little under $3 doz and the other so-called "cage-free" and "vegetarian-fed" brown eggs are around $2.50 / doz.

The few other roadside egg sellers in my area are charging $3/doz.

I have been charging $3/doz. and demand far exceeds supply. I am thinking of raising my price to $4/doz. especially given recent increases in the price of feed which has gone up about 30% since I started raising chickens a year ago.

Anyone else getting $4 / doz for their eggs?

The only way to know is to try it and see what happens. I am sure people come to you because they can choose local instead of store..but if you are a lot more than the store..they might have no reason to come to you instead. All you can do is try and see what happens and fix your price accordingly.

We feed our flock organic feed and have quite a demand for their eggs, which we sell at $4.00/doz. I hear the price of feed is going up, so we may up it to $5.00. Organic free range here in California sell in the $4-5 range in the stores, anyway.

I'm selling mine for $2 but they're pretty small. I'd probably get $4 a dozen for large brown eggs if I took them to the farmer's market in Morgan Hill.

$3 to $4 is quite a jump. I suggest you do it in steps. Raise it 50 cents and see if you lose any customers. If you don't lose any buyers, wait a few months and bump it up again. Whine copiously about how the price of chicken feed has gone through the roof.

If you raise prices a dollar and all your customers quit you, you will have a hard time building up a customer base again.

To the OP - Sounds like my area.

I could easily sell for $4 a dozen, since the local stores sell "cage free" for $4-5 a dozen, and there aren't many chicken owners out here at all, plus there are a lot of retired folks and tourists.

But, I'd rather be selling hatching eggs.

Wow and I thought $3 a doz here was kinda steep. I may have to look into selling in the future.
