Okay now with my own issues, I candled my eggs last night and now I can't see a darn thing in there, it's just dark...is it suppose to be like that? I was panicking and my DH could tell so he just kept saying it was because it was full of chick, which it could be, but I couldn't see anything. How do you see blood rings? I few days ago I could see sstuff moving and everything and now all I can see is the air sac and a little bit of veins on the other end, what do I do?

I would leave them. Your hubbie is right they are probably just full of chick. I've got 7 that are definitely still growing and 1 with veining but the growth in it is wayyy behind the others. I left it in just to see what happens with it. I'll candle it Wed. when it's time to up the humidity and stop turning. I added 2 of my ducks' eggs in there and they won't be ready to hatch until April 4th. Those are both doing great, nice veining and growth. The last time I candled the chicken eggs, I got to see one of the babies move around and open its beak. It was awesome.

I've just got to get through the rest of this week! Should have hatching babies on Sat.

My hatch date is the 21st. I started up the hatcher this morning. I will be moving the chicks this wednesday. I have salmon faverolles, oegb in bbred and self blue, and 2 brahma eggs.

Would any of you like to join the hatching experiment? We're trying to determine if egg shape determines gender. So far the results are looking interesting...
Anyway, all you'd have to do is number the eggs (i.e. in pencil), and then take a photo from above. Theyn, you would need to be able to separate your eggs into 2 hatching groups after I take measurements from the photos and send you the predictions.
This is TONS of fun, if you want to participate!

I will be on day 18 tomorrow

Everything has been going pretty good until today. The fan went out and now my humidity is all screwed up. I am going to candle tonight and make sure everything is still going for tomorrow. My only question is do I still turn the eggs on day 18 and not the last 3 days or do I not turn them at all day 18, 19, 20, and 21?

Well I can't see anything in my eggs so I don't know what to do!!! I have no idea how many will hatch, now I am getting nervous!
