I candled 2 eggs last night and I couldn't see anything either! They are just black with an air cell. I'm a little worried the air cells are too big, but
My eggs are set to hatch on the 22nd but I don't know what kind they are. I got them from a local farmer who has assorted chickens and gave me the eggs not knowing if they were fertile.

Yes, those are the 4 I decided to take out. They just looked empty. No veins or anything, right from the get go. I hope I did the right thing...
Well Munchkin2Mom I had 2 like that, I threw them out, so I am right there with ya! I haven't compared air cells yet but I am beginning to think I will just leave them be and hope for the best!
With less than a week left you aren't going to be seeing much other than the air cell and the rest is getting pretty full of chick so you really can't see much. Sounds like you've got some chicks in the eggs to me.
Yeah, I won't even be cadling my eggs again. I have no idea what to look for anyway. Hopefully this weekend out of the 31 eggs left, I'll at least get a dozen chicks. I cannot wait! This is soooo exciting!
BTW, I set another 41 eggs in a 2nd LG I got. This one is still air though. So hopefully I'll have chicks to keep my busy while I wait for the second set to hatch!
lol a sssecond incubator??? Well my DH said if these don't hatch he will install me a auto turner. PLUS>>> He said I could have a whole flock of Red sex links!!! He's building me a second pen for them so I will have pure hatching eggs and all! He said we will start on a chicken tractor this weekend! A new chicken tractor and chicks all in one weekend! Yay
