Finally my internet is working!!! Stupid thing stopped working just as my first hatch happened
out of our 11 eggs, 9 hatched within 20 hours (day 20)! it was an exciting day thats for sure. Except, DD had a fever of 104 in one year and 106 in the other...so we had to rush her to the doctors.
anyways, gotta go back to the doctors right now...will post pics this afternoon
Put all the eggs in cartons last night, curious to see if that makes for a better hatch!
Temp ran a little low last night after taking turner out. Hope that doesn't mess anything up. I hate to rush things but my husband was given 6 turkey eggs yesterday and I am supposed to pick up a dozen more on Thursday! I am so excited! That's my next mission, to hatch turkeys and chicks!!
3 ducks have pipped! and i can see there beaks! If i talk to them they chirp at me. awwwww. hurry duckies!!!! only 1 egg left to pip. (i snuck him in there late.....)
I have 18 chicks so far. And a bunch of pips, but the chicks are really beating on the eggs, rolling them around and everything. I hope they're ok. I took the dry 13 chicks out of the bator and into the brooder, so hopefully everything will go well!
Well, for a first batch and everything going wrong, I ended up with 3 healthy chicks, and 1 that was flipping on its back last night, but i think it's going to be ok (it's getting stronger every hour). If I hadn't roasted the 4 I would of had 8 alive right now. I had 2 die in shell, 2 die after hatching. 8 eggs haven't hatched. I am leaving them alone for now.
I have about 15 in there that are supposed to hatch next Sunday, we will see what happens with them. With all my problems with tempurature these last four weeks, I want to get a Brinsea or other tempurature control version before I try again.
