I have 11 coturnix quail eggs under my 2 broody hens. One silkie, one banty cochin. The silkie steals all the eggs and the cochin just sits and waits for them to hatch, actually....

Anyway, today is the due day, Day 18, and one hatched, like clockwork...yippy! Somehow it got itself into the watter dish on the opposite siide of the brooder and was chirpiing wildly, which is the only reason I knew it hatched at all. I rescued it and returned it to under mama it is doing fine now. No other eggs looked to be pipping or anything.

Other than my exciting story, I just want to know how long to wait for the other eggs. I know iits 25 days on the expected 21 for chickens, but what about quail?

everybody is different, I only wait 2-3 days after due date, just in case my temp wasn't steady. but with a broody hen I'm not sure... [IMG]
