Not sure if this is the right group for this question, but I am trying to raise some crickets, and have a few questions. . . Hopefully someone will have some advice for me. First, they have food and water and stuff to climb on/in. I put a container of moist dirt in and they laid eggs in it, but so far none of the eggs have hatched

(it has been a few weeks) Is there a way to tell if the eggs are fertile? (My uncle said some companies sterilize the crickets so they can't reproduce) Or is it my fault, maybe keeping it too wet? They don't currently have a heat lamp, they are kept at room temperature. Any suggestions? Thanks

OK thanks

is it too late for the eggs I already have or can I warm them up and see if they hatch? They don't look like they have any fungus or anything on them

Why do you raise crickets?
It sounds fun though!

I used to raise them for my FireBelly Toads.
It can be quite time consuming and a hassle.
Often times the males will eat the eggs before they have a chance to hatch or before you pull them and place on a heating pad. (or at least that's what happened to me).
Do chickens enjoy crickets?

I raise them for our bearded dragons to eat. Our scorpion and gecko eat some too but not as many.
