7. That rule must be why I always see groups of harley riders at the side of the road, ususally loading the broken one into someones pickup truck.

Can I second the drop the Harley/Asian bike bashing? I swear nothing turns me off a person quicker than if they start launching into their "Harley/Asian Bike sucks because..." You want to tell me why you love YOUR bike, go right ahead. I'd love to hear it! But why do some types insist on disparaging others, in order to make their own seem better?
We are all on two wheels, the rest of the world think we're freakin' nuts anyways, so why such animosity?

Nevermind, don't answer that. Please.

I'd rather just tell you about my bike. It's a 2001 BMW R1200C. I bought it not because I hate HD or Yamaha or Kawi, and not even because I am some kind of Beemerphile...but because when I saw it, its' look intrigued me and when I took it for a test drive I fell in love. It just "fit" me better than any other bike I had ever sat on/test drove. And the fact that for a bike with cruiser-style ergonomics, it can perform very well in twisties, which is important to me. I'm kind of stuck between two worlds...for physical comfort I like a cruiser style, but in the twisties I'd rather be on a sport bike, ya know what I mean? To ME, the R1200 fits the bill.

I have been riding for about 3 years now and am the President of the Space Coast Riders Chapter of Women in the Wind. The ladies in our riding club ride mostly ride cruisers, but every make and model imaginable. We have a lot of fun. My husband rides a BMW LT, or Light truck LOL. He just recently installed arm rests so our son (5) could start riding with us, with a little more security. We're heading up to Daytona Saturday for our first family bike trip.

conny63malies: Thanks! Ya know I always forget when Leesburg is! I've been a couple of times and thought it was great. It's coming up isn't it? That would be a great idea for another family trip. I love the roads up there. Do you go? We really appreciate how supportive the town of Leesburg and its people are of the event. I'm just a one rat study, but I felt very welcomed there, as opposed to tolerated.

denimangle: Your welcome.

OK....since I'm here I gotta ask...anyone ever take their chickens for a ride? I see lots of people with little dogs in crates and harnesses and such. Why not a chicken?

But as long as my DH was the station commander of the local Army recruiting he had a booth there , right by gator Harley and his bike stood right there. They might have one right there again, maybe even with a rock wall or some other fun stuff.I think this year it is from the 24-26 th of april.Yup just checked it is http://leesburgbikefest.com/Bikefest/index.htm. GReat White is playing saturday.
I used to take my d'uccle to petsmart just for kicks. But in the car.
