anybody subscribe to "Gamebird Gazzette" ?

One of my family members gave me a subscription to this one...... http://www.quailforever.org/ for Christmas, and it's pretty good. It, too, is a quarterly magazine, but it focuses mainly on Bobs, and primarily Wild Bobwhite Hunting. I still enjoy it though, as eveytime I see a picture of a Bobwhite, I get reminded of my 2nd love.... (my family is 1st). Also, got this neat little sign for my bird pen shed.... http://cgi.ebay.com/BOBWHITE-CROSSI...201?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eb2768849
They can read me purdy good....

Like JJ and others say, there was at least one thread on here last year that was gettin' hammered with negative comments about this publication's (GG) ability to make customers happy. I was ABOUT to subscribe right about the time the thead popped up, and the bad vibes coming from all of those folks told me to "hold up" on subscribing. I was afraid it hadn't gotten any better yet...

I did subscribe last year, got nothing, 2 months later send them an email, they sent me few issues which looked like old.

There is no dates, never received anything else. There is no info how often they publish or how many issues a year. After a year they send me a letter or email to resubscribe.

Save yourself money and aggreviation. Theese folks are a joke (Gamebirds Gazette).

I don't know what the status of the "Better Business Bureau" is these days, buy many years ago, it was somewhat of a legitimate "investigative / get-your-act-together-or-shut-down" orginization. Nonetheless.......somebody needs to light a fire under companies' butts like this publisher!!!

It Was My Understanding At The Time The Bad Publicity Was Running Through Here A While Back That It Is Not Really A Publisher Like A Modern Magazine Really But Rather An Individual Family That Runs It As A Not For Profit Type Of Service For The Industry( A Hobby If You Will? ) If I Remember Correctly And It Was Having Administrative Organization Issues With Memberships... Specifically New Memberships...

If I pay 20 bucks a year for a subscription to a magazine like this, I expect to get at least 4 quarterly dated issues, preferably monthly or semi monthly issues.

If a "magazine" is run correctly they are going to get extra revenue from advertising, so surely they can afford to send a copy every 3 months or so at minimum to their subscribers.

In my experience with those people I was scammed.

And they even had an audacity to ask for renewal after they fail to deliver any current issue, I think they did not have any so they sent me a few old ones.

What a bunch of scamming losers !!!

I love the Gazette and would never give up my membership. The Gazette does have a full money back policy and you don't even have to return any issues to get all of your money back. I recommended the magazine to a neighbor of mine a couple years ago. The neighbor really liked the Gazette but he decided to stop raising birds this year and asked the Gazette for a refund and got it right away. So I personally know you cant lose any money joining this magazine. Even if you subscribe and receive issues for a year or two, they'll still give you all of your money back! I take a lot of other magazines and the Gazette is the only one where you can subscribe and get all of your money back, even after you've received issues. That shows how good and honest these people are and they go the extra mile. JJ is right, I've belonged to the mag for years, it's a family run magazine and not a money making thing. They do it for the love of the birds and theyre great people. As far as advertising, their rates are dirt cheap and they couldn't be making any money out of it. As you often hear, more and more magazines and newspapers are going out of business all the time cause there aren't the advertising dollars there for print newspapers and mags these days. This is especially true with smaller specialty type magazines like this one. I would never give up my membership as I love the Gazette and have benefitted a lot from all the great info and contacts I make from it. Anybody needs help, call or write debbie at the magazine. The e-mail is [email protected]

See some discomfort and provide what is needed to settle things down.
I'll make use of the email you have left.

Thank you too to the other folks who spoke the truth of the thing on the "not so receiving side".

I think its a good magaizine but it is a little pricy since you only get i think it was 4 issues a year or something along those lines. Thats pretty much the only gamebird mag I was ever able to find and it is quite intreseting. If you have the money id say go ahead!

If you have troubles getting your magazines, email them and let them know. They have always made good on subscriptions.
In N.H.,Tony.
