Ok. She would like to get the stuff over there because I called ours and they dont sell it.

Parvo is contagious, you can't know that it's "only in" your room I admire your willingness to help these puppies, but PLEASE don't put them at risk. No vaccine is 100% effective IMO knowingly exposing them borders on neglect. Puppies are generally easy to home, so why not just advertise but leave them where they are. Maybe you can donate a couple bags of puppy chow to the people that have them.

How is parvo spread?

CPV-2 is known to survive on inanimate objects - such as clothing, food pans, and cage floors - for 5 months and longer in the right conditions. Insects and rodents may also serve as vectors playing an important role in the transmission of the disease. All parvoviruses are extremely stable and are resistant to adverse environmental influences such as low pH and high heat. Exposure to ultraviolet light and sodium hypochlorite (a 1:32 dilution of household bleach - ½ cup bleach to 1 gallon of water) can inactivate parvovirus. The bleach solution can be impaired by organic matter and needs to have adequate exposure time and proper concentrations to work effectively. The normal incubation period (time from exposure to the virus to the time when signs of disease appear) is from 7-14 days. Active excretion of the virus in the feces can begin the third day after exposure, often before clinical signs appear, and may last for one to two weeks after the onset of the disease.

The shelter gets filled every week. They have to put them to sleep because people just dump them there. Even if we donate the food they will still put them down. I tried talking them into waiting till the 3rd week of jan so I can bleach every single part of the house then go over it with parvosol. I will let them get put down then. Forget it.

Yeah but we are friends with the animal catcher. He gives them to us for free so they have a better chance to live and have a good home. My mother and I go down to NC every 3 weeks.

May be a legal thing - some states restrict the sell of vaccines, so you may not be able to get them over the counter in NJ. IF that is the issue, online places can't ship them to you either.

I know here in NC you can pretty much get anything except rabies vaccines...

Okay, just to add another little kink in this thread... but the Spectra brand that they sell is not very effective and has many side effects. When you go to their website, that is very difficult to find and post a vaccine reaction you start finding out how common it is. My puppy Bucky had horrible seizures after his first shot and I spent 600 bucks in medical bills his first night home, not to mention the nightmare of caring for violently ill puppy.

Many of the vets around here do vaccine clinics that are walkin and way cheaper than making an appointment. They usually do it on a weekly basis around here. Please call some vets and see if they do it around you and don't use the cheapy vaccines.

We can ge the's vaccs but we need a subscription for the syringes. Our newton vet is a @%@%$! I know the hillside vet may set us up with a subscription. My mom would like to know what kind of shots do hey have and if you have to buy the syringes seperatly? Also do you need to present an ID if yor buying around 10 vaccines?

Hillside does it for $18-$20 depending on what vaccines and the size of the dog

Even kill shelters don't usually kill puppies. They are rediculously easy to rehome. It's usually the older dogs/pit mixes/dob mixes that aren't as cute/cuddly that bear the brunt of kill shelter ethics. 15 puppies are going to be quite a responsibility. That being said, if you are convinced you must, this is the way it works here:

You do not need a prescription for the vaccines, from the feedstore it comes all together, single dose w/ needle included.

These vaccines do not need to be administered by a vet, you can do it yourself and it is not difficult.

In most states the only vaccine that must be given by a vet is Rabies, and I'm guessing these pups are probably too young for that anyway.

It's not legal in all areas to give meds yourself, but in our area it is.

Hope this helps, and good luck. I do hope that none of your puppies get sick. Is there a way you can vaccinate them before you bring them home? And please remember even then immunity takes time to develope.
