Anyone buy stuff you see on TV?

My son is a sucker for all these infomercials. For Christmas he asked for a pancake puff pan, a bath blizzard, and me to get nutrisystem and "stop dieting forever." Did I mention he's 5.

I've got one of those sons too. He was determined to get me Aqua Globes for Christmas. I have all of one potted plant but I just HAD to have them. He is still miffed at his father for not getting them for me!

Oh yeah I forgot about the aquaglobes. Ds saw them at CVS and threw a fit to buy them. We don't have any houseplants. lol

This thread is a HOOT! My husband affectionately calls me "a product of commercialism".
I will buy anything and it's such a good thing that I don't have a credit card or we would be in some serious trouble

And it's not about the products. For me it's just about the experience of buying. I am a shopaholic. I live and breathe shopping and will find any excuse to do so. Blame my mother, it's how she raised me, 6 days a week wandering around various stores always buying things.

I have had green bags in my hands at Bed, Bath, and Beyond (they sell alot of TV stuff too!).

I have eyed oreck XL vacumes, the set it and forget it thing, the magic bullet blender, the space bags, I have probably considered all of it at some point!

If I had credit cards my kitchen would be full of JUNK!

My kids too! They want me to get aquaglobes so badly!

I have to wonder if they would actually work? I only have two houseplants because I kill everything due to forgetting to water them!

I have this really special plant, a peace lilly that was given to my husbands family at my Father In Laws wake in early 2005. The plant was so large that we repotted it into 4 plants, one for each of the three children and one for my Mother in Law. I always forget to water it until it's like croaking for water, all wilted and half dead and bent over!

My husband and I laugh every time we see that commercial. How can they still be making them-do people REALLY buy them?

I doubt they still make them. I think it was one of those "This is going to be a hit!" type items, so they mass produced them... and now they are all sitting ina warehouse, waiting for some kid to want a Tweety Bird with alphalpha sprouts growing out of it's head. Talk about a skewed sense of reality!
