Anyone candled their Superior Farms eggs yet?

Out of the 12 Silver Penciled Rock eggs I ordered, 3 were DOA. None of those looked fertile. Of the 9 that made it to the bator, none developed. Still working with Danny on that.

Of the 12 Buff Orp eggs that were a replacement for the Silver Leghorns I'd ordered, only 1 was DOA. The remaining 11 made it into the bator and several began to develop. None hatched.

This wasn't a particularly good year for Superior Farms, but I'll try again sometime in the future. Maybe not with shipped eggs, though.

A quick update.

Superior Farms did confirm my chicks I hatched (ordered from them) are mottled java, not black.

No word if they will replace them or not. I am still waiting for my chick order I placed back in JAN.

Any one having better luck with Superior than I am?

I ordered 2 dozen red dorking eggs and then was emailed and said they had no eggs for the rest of the year. After a month I still did not get my money back so I emailed them. Danny called me to say he was sorry but since they were using older Roosters the hatch rates are really low and they were getting new stock to renew there breeding stock. He said they would be refunding my money. I would have been glad to get some chicks but apparently they are keeping all they hatch.

I ordered I belive back in Febuary. They told me it would probly be the end of march before my eggs where shipped, that was fine. First week of April I called to find out about my eggs. They couldnt find any record of my order. They will NOT respond to emails. Now Danny did work with me after several phone calls (apparently he is very busy lol) as sometimes when i called he hadnt had a chance to look for my order again. They never found my order. I saved my email from Paypal and forwarded it. I got my eggs after a few weeks. Out of 24 2 or 3 where broke on arrival. After candling at day 10 i found another broke egg. So out of 24 eggs I had 7 develope. 2 Died in shell today and 1 hatched out today with a crooked beak that i had to cull. I did get 4 gorgous blue orps but not one of my barred rock bantams hatched. I do know shipping is hard on eggs but the whole experience with them was enough for me. My eggs arrived in an egg carton wrapped in what looked like toilet paper. They didnt do so well. Then the egg carton was surrounded with shredded paper. I could of handled the bad hatch and blamed it on the PO but the packing wasnt very well i thought nor was the wait on eggs, it was about 2.5 months. Ill deal with my BYC family for now on.
