Anyone do paperbackswap.com, swaptree.com, etc? Experiences?

I'm particularly interested in paperbackswap.com, because it looks like you do not have to post credit card info as you do for swaptree.

Any good / bad experiences to share? Worth doing?

Thanks

My wife's been using it for a couple years now. Never had a problem.
We love it. It's always exciting to get a book in the mail and see who it's for

I've used paperbackswap.com and it's sister sites for years and LOVE it! Very well run and well thought out site.

Nope, no cc info needed. I do keep a small amt of $$ on my acct to buy Delivery Confirmation, but that's totally optional. I pay for it by paypal.

Although they call it Paperback swap, you don't have to pick swapping partners to get books.

When someone requests one of the books you have posted, you mail it at your expense and recieve a "credit" for sending it. You can spend your credit on any of the (almost) 4 million books posted on the system!!!!!

The sender ships at their expense, so when you request one, it's free!

I use swapadvd.com and bookmooch.com love them both!

That's why you should only list regular paperbacks. The big ones get expensive to ship.

I've swapped several hundred books on Paperbackswap both for me and my son and also my classroom. I highly recommend them, you have no need for a credit card on there unless you are out of credits and wish to buy some. It's strictly swapping, you don't buy books from each other. You send one and when it gets registered you get a credit that you can use to ask for a book from someone else. Some kinds are much more popular than others, vampires are hot right now, paranormal romance, westerns are always popular. If the book you want isn't available right now you put it on your wish list and get in line.

I've had a couple of people on here sign up and as soon as they posted a certain amount of books I got a credit for a book!! All you have to do is use a member for a reference and they get credit.

i have been a member of paperbackswap.com for over a year now. I love it! I usually order and recieve about 2 books a month, and also mail out about the same
