I did not expect that ordering shipped eggs would be such a stress, lol. I received a text that they had arrived at my PO, but it didn't say it was out for delivery. So I decided to go to the post office. I spoke to a supervisor who went to check on the package and returned several minutes later. She said the package must be on the truck, but it hadn't been scanned out. So I went home and waited. When my deliverer showed up, I was standing at my mailbox. He didn't have my eggs. Ugh. He could see that I was upset. He called. They were "on hold" at the PO, but they were now closed. He told me where to go to pick them up and so back to the PO I went. Whew!! I feel so much better now, lol.

Oh man! That is frustrating! I'm glad your delivery person was so helpful!

Well, when I told him that the supervisor had been trying to reach him on the phone I think he freaked out a bit. So he immediately call her to sort it out. When I picked up the package she said I had to come back with video of the hatching, lol. It was nice that they let me go after hours, though. I may have to name one Yolanda, after her!

What day are you on?
Day 9, and I haven't candled since day 3. I didn't candle any of the eggs I gave the broody, she is an excellent broody and is sitting on 8 now. I have 13 in the incubator so we will see. I tend to order a lot of eggs when they are shipped, but these are from Meyer hatchery, and I've had 80 to 100% hatch rate with them.

Hello, All! I keep seeing this thread pop up and as I am currently incubating I thought I would stop in and say hello. I’m a seasoned Hatcher with an incubator full of my own silkie eggs. I breed silkies and play with call ducks. :) Don’t hesitate to ask if anyone needs any advice or help with their hatches. Also have done many batches with shipped eggs, as I see some of you are hatching. Good luck with all the hatches!! I’m on day 7, btw!
