We are three days from lockdown with 8 Nankin Bantam eggs. They started out under a first-time broody who had a change of heart. We put them in the bator to try and finish them off. The auto-turner quit at some point (we're not sure when) so we've been turning them manually for a week, now. So far, so good. I candled when we started turning them, and it looks like we only had two duds at that point. I left 'em though, because I don't trust my candling skills, yet. We'll just keep our fingers crossed and take our chances...

So exciting! I love Nankins. I checked them all without taking them out the egg turner, there were a few I'm not 100% sure are developing. I'm going to leave them until day 10 for sure. I don't trust my candling skills either! :lau QUOTE="MROO, post: 20239601, member: 504389"]We are three days from lockdown with 8 Nankin Bantam eggs. It may just ve where the seller put "DO NOT X-RAY" on the box (hopefully)
A friend who works in the Post Office says that the larger hubs use automatic sorters, and that live animals, like chicks, are often hand carried, rather than tossed on the belt with everything else headed in that direction. That could explain your notice, too.
Thanks, Kiki & MROO! I just thought it was odd that I received that text ten minutes after I received the text saying the package had departed the Ybor City distribution center.
