anyone due on feb. 8th-13th??

I have about 15 salmon and blue favorolle bantams due about the same time. I am so excited to have those hatch.
I think as long as the temp doesn't go much higher than 103 or so we should all be OK. It is a constant worry though. Today when mine would get over 101 I would open it briefly and get it back down. That way I was able to stay at an average of 100.
I have a home built bator that I started yesterday and it was at a constant 96 to 106. It turns on and off about every ten minutes so I was thinking that the eggs wouldn't cool or warm that quickly and would probably stay at an average between the two. As soon as I get another digital thermometer that I can put inside a weasel I will test it and see if my theory is correct.
Boy, I tell you, this is as bad as having a baby yourself!!

anyone know what is to cold for the eggs to get? just wondering, saw that some of you have been having problems with the temp getting to low.

and my bator is suppose to stay around 102-103 degrees.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, that sounds a bit high. I have only heard that they should be between 99.5 and 101.
Not sure how low they can go. As long as it isn't an extended period I don't think you have to worry too much.

yea 102-103 sounds high, i try to keep mine around 99-100 and not very far from that for to long im preatty sure 103 is too high u might wanna check that agin what type of bator do you have?

Its not to high, my bator is very old. the instruction manual, and a good friend of ours who has one of these incubators says that it is suppose to be between 102-103 degrees for this type of bator that i am using. thanks!

I have one set of RIR's and BR's hatching on the 9th and i have another set of Welsummers, Blue Andalusians, golden lakenvelders and some Blue crosses that should hatch on the 15th. There isn't any room left in my turner for anymore eggs lol.

Why do you think they are dead? My other batch had gone as high as 105 and the chicks were still OK. It was after it went to 115 that I figured I was doomed.
I read an article that said that in the years back, way back that the people used to incubate at higher temps than we do. I am sure they said 101 to 103.
I candled a few more last night and this morning and only have a few that are questionable. I think all of my purebreds are OK.
