My chick born this morning has a foot that has kind of curled toes. Does anyone know what to do about that. He walks on the side of the foot.
My third Wyandotte is pipped.

It could be that it just needs to straighten out becouse it was born this morning, i herd this before someone said that they just very jently straighted it them self but im not sure if that works, hopefully it uncurls as the day goes by. If not then u have a special little chick.

I was told to use a bandade, cut each end, the sticky side and put one on the bottom making sure the toes are straight and one on the top. Be careful, you will need to cut around the toes so it can stand, but I would wait and see if it gets better by the end of the day.

I saw somewhere on here a little "boot" made like a piece of poster board cut and folded over the foot and taped to straighten it out. I can't remember where it was???? There was a picture too!! If I find it I will put the link on here!

I found out on my email list.
I took a piece of masking tape, stuck it to my jeans a couple of times so it wasn't quite so sticky, got the chick and put its foot down on the tape with the toes correct, folded the tape over and voila! Fixed foot. The instructions were to leave it on for three days and take it off. If it still didn't correct, another three days. That should do it.
Thanks!
