What is a coy hill, coy dogs ? I have never heard this expression. Thanks

Coy dogs are an eastern term. Coyotes sometimes cross with dogs and produce a hybred, though I think a lot of people out east call all coyotes coy dogs.

BTW- I am originally from Michigan, went to NMU as well.

hi zookeeper9000..

..birch run farm is correct it is an eastrn term...the coy hill part..refers to a hill..or small mountain road by my house..that is called "coy's hill"....

Do ya miss MI, are your winters still as bed in Vermont as they were in MI

Jean,

I get Marquette lakeshore snows here where I am at. Last winter 12 feet of snow, the previous one 9 feet. Farmer's Almanac says even more to come this winter.

You need snowshoes to get around anywhere you have not plowed snow. Needless to say, winter sports are big here! Lots of ski lodges in these mountains.

I don't miss Michigan though, Vermont is nicer, has more to do, is better for farmers and near by to lots of big city stuff if you so desire. Plus it is prettier over all!

For trapping supplies I like Trapper Art's, just google the name and their website comes up. If you want to snare the VERY BEST is Newt at 'snareone' .com.

Coydogs is not just an eastern term. It is used anytime a coyote has hybridized with domestic canines and produced offspring. I just call them all targets...

Coyotes are also referred to as 'yotes, brush wolves, etc.... If ya raise birds, no matter where ya are, they spell trouble...
