Anyone else craving...

I usually make a Thanksgiving Dinner in the summer.
You can't just have that feast once a year.

I fully agree with you we do it at yeast three maybe four times a year. Like I said cook outdoors, keep house cool and enjoy a movie. But have to admit I have a hard time with the movie, I can't sit for that long.

I'm making a turkey on Saturday! We're having friends over this weekend to help put together the shish kabobs for the wedding, so I had to clear out the freezer space at my parents' (we're going to freeze the kabobs).

Unfortunately, my turkey won't be dry, so I can't help with that part of your nostalgia. But if you want to come over & help skewer meat for an hour or so, you're welcome to c'mon down!!

My dad used to smoke the turkey at thanksgiving and the gravy from that Turkey was to die for! One of these days I'm going to do it since Dad is gone... I crave that smoked turkey gravy!

If I could get there in time I'd more than happy to bring my stuff and help out. I love to cook. Hope you have good weather for your event. Also congrats on the newlyweds, My 25th is Aug. 25h. Wish them many happy and healthly years together.

We usually have turkey for Easter too...then sigh...its a long way until Thanksgiving! No one in the family seems to want to do this during the warmer weather.

I'm always in the mood for thanksgiving dinner.

Maybe not dry turkey though... I like it moist and smothered in cranberry sauce. Mmmm mm goooood.... mashe potatoes and gravy, carrots in brown sugar. I've been getting fall vibes. The apples are ready and the weather is cool!

We go a "practice thanksgiving" in late october, in which we make a good moist turkey, and all the fixings. It makes it beariable to eat granny's uber dry bird and soggy stuffing the next month without complaint.

Can you flip it back over towards the end of cooking to crisp up the skin?
