Anyone else disappointed by their christmas??

My son is I can not believe how disappointed he is. Santa did not bring him a crab boat well no one makes them to my knowledge. He got plenty of things but not that special item. It is like Ralphy not getting his red rider bb gun. So I let him open the presents from me I got a wii with games and the attachements and tried to inform him that it was for both of us and he insists it is his. OMG Maybe I should have just bought a frickin incubator for myself. I am have not been in a christmasy mood and was dreading it this year anyway and this just makes it worse feel like crawling back in bed till next year this year can't be over soon enough.

It is more blessed to give than to receive. We are to give from our heart and expect nothing in return but it will not go unnoticed. It will come back to you when you need it the most.God Bless!
I love that

I know, be thankful for healthy kids, family and all that. I get it. But I also get the part about lousey gifts. Because I believe its the thought that counts not the dollar amount, but when theres no thought put into it...... you get what I mean? My sister is my polar opposite and always gets me stuff she likes (Im 37, shes 36, not like we are kids or anything) my dad never gets me anything since I had to borrow his truck for a year a few years back because I had no money to buy another car. I usually need to borrow money from my mom at some point so thats her gift to me. My older son (nearly 19) never bothers to get anything for me. So pretty much I understand the down feeling when you get nothing or nothing you can use. And i have to do all the work around here, getting up early, cleaning up the wrapping paper, toys all over the floor, make breakfast, more cleaning. I dont get much of a festive feeling.

Christmas has always been a big let down ever since I grew up! As a kid it's the best holiday of the year. As an adult I find it's alot of work (cooking, baking, cleaning, shopping) and there's always some family friction somewhere.

I just think there is such a build up of hype for Christmas that when it finally gets here it's really just another day like any other. But that's me, I don't have a sentimental bone in my body.

Merry Christmas to all!

Im sad with how entitled the younger generation seems to be nowadays....not that Im so old, but Im not younger....and especially at Christmas time. I guess thats why they call them the "me" generation.

Pretty pathetic title to this thread. Perhaps it would be better stated by saying "what did you do to make someones Christmas special?". The family down the road has been unemployed for over 6 months. The Neighborhood Watch group all chipped in and bought their 3 boys bats, mitts, and softballs, and they are all in the cow pasture playing right now. I can hear them playing from 20 acres away. "Santa" brought their parents a gift certificate to the local grocery store yesterday, and they are fixing a humongous turkey and have invited the entire street (some of whom they dont even know) to join in this evening. Its gonna be fun!

Merry Christmas!!

Well lets see.... Christmas fell on my days off, but since I dont have kids people seem to think that Christmas isn't as important to me, and so I'm working, both Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day. But it gets even better....

After getting to work yesterday at 5am, working all day, and getting off at 6pm... I got snowed/iced in at work and HAD TO SLEEP HERE... on the couch... in the lobby.

My entire family has had Christmas Eve dinner, played in the snow together, had Christmas breakfast this morning, and opened gifts together. And I've been at work the entire time....

When I leave today I will have been her for 36+ hours. I've had no shower, no change of clothes, and I'm wearing the same underwear from yesterday.

Would you like to ask your question again? LOL

I seem to have lost the Christmas spirit along the way to growing older, I dunno...

Going through the motions (decorating, baking, presents) but not really feeling anything, just a forced happiness about stuff I really don't care about to make others around me happy and seem "normal"...

I'm actually glad it's almost over for another year, so I can go back to hugging my chickens and dreaming about the incubator I was promised for my birthday next month! LOL

I'm sorry your eggs didn't hatch. I'd gladly mail you some Christmas chicks if the weather was better! Hope you see some Christmas spirit today!

I just didn't get anything.

Told my mom I didn't need anything because she hates to shop. We will get money later to go shopping or something.
