Hi! My shipped eggs from a fellow BYC'er are due to hatch on the 4th. Mutt eggs, but ALOT more of them made the candling grade and are progressing nicely. I think I only had to pitch 2-3 clear eggs out of about 2 dozen. Can't wait to see what my mix babies look like! Is anyone else hatching in Independence day? Hope the fireworks don't scare them into staying IN the shells! LOL....

Yes! I have 2 Serama and 1 OEGB X Serama due on the 4th. They are under a broody Serama who is doing her grumpiest, screaming at anyone who walks by or at any other bird she can she from her own enclosure. This will be the 2nd time i have used a hen. The first time with the same hen, she hatched out a little ee mutt. It was so cold I took the chick from her and put it inside in a brooder. We still call it "Sparkles baby", even though she was the foster mom. I am looking forward to the hatch. Serama are always very fun because they come out in such a huge variety of colors when they feather. As hot as it has been, I thought perhaps the eggs would not need a broody or an incubator!

I've got guineas due on the 3rd. I have Light Brahma, Partridge Cochin, Black Marans, Splash Marans, Black Copper Marans, and Jersey Giants due on the 5th.

This being the 4th... I moved grumpy Sparkle aside and candled the eggs. The oegb x serama is in the air cell, and cheeping. Hope it hatches today. The two Serama eggs are still moving around but it looks like too much fluid to hatch today, i.e., they're not quite done cooking yet. I reckon I'll have to extend the hatch day to tomorrow for them.

How's everyone else doing?

I got 2 hatched today and 2 more trying to get out. Can´t see anything on the other 2 eggs.
