Anyone else excited about their garden?

I've got peppers to pick, little green tomatoes getting bigger, corn about 5 inches high, squash , beans... We're gonna see how chicken poo affects the garden this year.

I was sooooo happy to see my bean sprouts up today!!!

I got 12 eggs from 12 pullets, my baby cockeral was starting to crow, and my beanies were starting to grow. If it weren't for the squirrel stuck in my car somewhere

, this would have been tallied as a wonderful start to the day.

Tommorow, I will get the tomatoes and peppers planted and then get to wait....

Has anyone successfully transplanted (or grown from seed) wild chile petins?

my uncle and grandmother have been growing these the last couple years for juice. She really likes them and thinks they do a thicker juice.

Why don't the roma's do it for ya? Just curious. I LOVE Amish paste! Although, I wouldn't do juice with them because they are soooooo meaty. But I love the roma's, too, for sauce and paste. Last year I found some 'roma italiano's' and I really loved those. They were a lot bigger than roma's.
This year I have started some Jersey Devil's. Supposed to be a really good sauce tomato. And they are long, like a pepper.
Also in seed trays...
Pineapple tomatoes
Oxhearts
Paul Robesons
Cherokee purples
Amish Paste
Giant Belgium
peppers:
Jalapeno
serrano
sweet bells...about 6 varieties
paprika
pimento
Haiti cluster
Atomic Starfish
Peter Pepper
Cilantro
Oregano
Basil
Onions
bush beans
... and I'll put some greens out, too. But this is all I've got started in trays so far.
I'm jealous of all of you already in the ground!!!!!

I'm not sure about the petins? I had the tepins (wild chile) a couple of years ago and DH wants them again. Beautiful bush plant with LOTS and LOTS of hot little berries. Just squeeze that hot juice right into a bowl of beans or on a taco...oooweee. We got the plant from a Mexican we met who works in one of the nurseries around here. They didn't grow that pepper but he kept them at his house. Never have seen another.

Like the carrots do ya? I wouldnt mind doing some of those beets. Do you harvest beet seeds or is that how it works?

LOLOL!!! You think??? I am not even a huge carrot fan I do like them but ..well a friend works for a seed company and he sent me bags of carrot seeds last year so I had to use them again and can plant them early ..my dogs birds and husband neighbors all adore carrots so they will go to good use ..
I have never harvested beet seeds I have never actually gotten them to grow before but I think it is because I did not start them early enough ..I still have the white carrots to plant but think I will wait on that!

I had a wierd encounter with pinetree seeds long story short I have a huge package of seeds at no charge from them I felt guilty and offered to send them back but have not heard from them

so in May I have beans ..beans and more beans to plant ....

Well, I'd be happy to plant my vegetables, but I'm not looking forward to unloading and schlepping 1200# of potting soil from the carport to the backyard.
