anyone else get really excited to collect eggs?

Guilty as charged. Being around my chickens is so relaxing and collecting eggs is an added bonus. We jut built a larger coop and just added the nesting boxes so obviously we were all excited when we found an egg in the new nesting box and a chicken in one of the other boxes.

Yes, I still get as excited as a kid at Christmas. And yesterday it paid off...........my first wellie egg! (next to a Barred rock egg)

Highlight of my day!

My toddler doesn't concern herself so much with the eggs. I really thought she'd like that. She looks forward to tossing them their scratch (and will try to do so several times a day, if I don't weight the lid down on the container!)

Both Lulu, the lame runt and I both like gathering eggs. Since the big girls are mean to her, she doesn't spend time in their enclosure so when I get the eggs, she gets to come along and eat the big girls food while I am there. I close the door so she can eat in peace. She loves eating their food even though she has the same food in her dish - stolen tidbits always taste better.

My SO and i race to the chicken pen everyday to collect eggs even though im more of a waddle now 22 weeks pregnant , he laughs at me! ! he beat me to it Friday and discovered that our ducks eggs were hatching! But it was okay i was at Petzone meeting Victoria Stillwell for the second time! I love collecting eggs!

Its so exciting every single day, its the first thing I do after i get home from work, and while at work Im wondering how many eggs would i get today! Definatly one of the highs of my day!

wow and today so far I have gotten nine eggs .. most I have gotten yet ... and I got three bantie eggs today .... everyone must love the weather .... lol
