ANYONE ELSE GOING BROKE ON SHIPPING THE SWAPS?

I'm getting over 4,000 supplies from the P.O for FREE, just put in my order, didn't even have to pay shipping. If you ship a lot of thing, I deffiently recommend it!

And if you pay online through USPS, you get a discount on the shipping rate.

Also if you use click n ship the delivery confirmation is free.

You have to make sure that even if it says priority mail you have to make sure it is not priority flat rate(which will cost you more unless you are sending a good deal more). The post office at least ours is very very picky about that ~ and I personally have spent too much and wonder if I should have just ordered chicks

you can get free boxes from some of the retail stores free. i work for one and we always have someone needing boxes for something. a cut down refrigerator box or washer box are great for brooder boxes too.
might save you some money atleast.

I think the PO rates are just crazy!! I get a lot of supplies from the PO site but forgot

about the discounts. Don't get me wrong, I would rather send my eggs than have them go to wasted. It just makes me mad that we pay all that to ship and then, regardless of what is in the box, they play football with our boxes.

I go on the Freecycle site for my area and get a lot of packing peanuts and bubble wrap. I also get these from work. I reuse everything I can. Did you know that you can take the priority boxes and turn them inside out so it's just another brown box? I think we all pretty much use and reuse stuff, it's the postage that's a killer. I have spent almost $200 in the last month.

Oh well, as long as it's fun for me and everyone else, I guess that's all that matters! I know I'm having a blast

I just wish I could get some seabrites to replace mine that I lost. That is one breed I just love.

Unless you have my postmaster who even though everything was covered and NO flat rate priority shipping showed HE KNEW that box. Made me go home and repack. :o He said I was trying to commit fraud by using a box that was intended one way and was using it another way. He said all postmasters should know that those boxes are only for flat rate...What if they are reused boxes? He did not care they still have to be mailed flat rate  So just be careful in your choice of boxes because you may have an picky postmaster like mine.

Use the 7x7x6 Priority Mail box which you can get for free at the PO and wrap each egg in half a sheet of 5/16" bubble wrap. Pad the rest of the box with bubble wrap as needed.

6 standard eggs or 8 bantam eggs packed this way will weigh a pound or just under and will ship for $4.80.
