So this is Mavericks home, maverick is just over 3 weeks old and he’s definitely fitting in the the family! This is his night time quarters and a safe place for when I pop out of the room, I understand a lot of you will be saying I shouldn’t have just one goose and this wasn’t my intention to have just one but so far it’s working out, he always has human company and dog company so is never left alone, he has the run of the house and will have the run of the garden when the avian flu is over in the uk, he’s very quiet at night and during the day unless he’s interacting with me, and although he’s never left on his own he does take himself off to bed around the corner and out of my sight without any distress, he eats, drinks and poops perfectly well and a lot! Lol but i think he’s a very happy goose! I’ve made loads of toys for him and bought everything he will possibly want, I welcome your comments and opinions positive or negative and will answer any questions or worries you have regarding welfare of a lone goose but please remember all animals are different, and don’t always follow the norm, and I’m pretty sure he thinks he’s a human, he’s imprinted on me as I hatched him, unfortunately the second egg didn’t make it.

Obviously a goose friend would be better, but it apparently didn't work out that way. You say he has "dog company", I don't know the extent of that, but make sure the gosling is safe around the dog.
Also, that is the most spoiled little gosling I've ever seen.

Oh he’s not left unattended with the dog at any time, he has his own play pen downstairs as well so he’s safe if I need to pop out and he will have his own section in the garden too, although he and the dog get on i’d never trust it 100% but yes he is very spoilt lol

He is absolutely adorable. I hatched 3 in early June. Once they were 4-5 weeks old I couldn't wait to get them outside because of the "mess" they made. I had a beak injury on one and had to bring them in for a couple days. My home smelled like a zoo. Different time of year for me and 3 times the results from eating. I miss goslings. Next year.

Thank you, He does make quite a bit of mess but I try to spot clean every hour or so and replace the towels, it’s like a laundrette in my house lol but all worth it for the cuddles 🥰

I just came here today for an update on Maverick. :)
He’s doing really well, his room a has been upgraded with new flowering and a tv and he’s growing fast lol xxx

OMGeee, I love him! What an awesome setup for him, he's so lucky to have you as his goose mama. I wish we lived close, I would love to have play dates.
