Question...
Right now my banty girl is happily sitting away on her 6 eggs... the other girls seem protective of her when I get nearby (she gets crabby and starts chicken cussing me if she thinks I'm taking any eggs out from under her). For now, all is right with the world, but if she successfully hatches any of these eggs am I most definitely and absolutely going to have to rehome banty girl and her babies to somewhere more safe or will they be ok with the other 4 girls?
If rehoming is necessary.. here is my thought process:
I'm pushing DH to build me a quarentine coop for sickies or brooders. I'm hoping he'll do it before this weekend because I planned on getting some new hens.
Two weeks is the quarentine away from the existing coop time (if I'm not mistaken)... so that'll put me real close to hatching day (approx. 5/2 or 5/3). I would definitely clean out the coop with a water part bleach solution before moving momma and babies, but would that cause any problems moving them?
As always, thanks for your thoughts and humble opinions!
