anyone else hatching may 1st

May 1st is day 21 for me! I'm waiting on 4 white and 2 buff silkies to hatch! I've got my fingers crossed for one roo of each color!!!! Of course I want pullets too. I did candle last week, thats when I saw 2 of the orginal 8 were not developing.

Today I am going to candle again to see how much further they've come along.

I really really really hope the 2 buff hatch for sure!!!!

I recandled the 4 living ones today -- two had conspicuous movement, one looked about the same but no movement, the other looked sort of dark and blurry through most of the egg. Does it sound like one or both of the last ones are goners? (I'll leave them in there anyhow, but...)

I would leave them and wait! I've had none movers before and they hatched. I just must of candled while they were at rest!!!

I hope they all do hatch!

I had a none mover once and I thought it was dead so I opened the air sack to see why it died. It was still alive I felt so bad so now I just let them be!

I candled last night. After running out and purchasing a new brighter flashlight I found of all the fertile eggs only 1 had expired sometime around day 8. The majority of the Ameraucanas were not fertile and of the Austrolorpes I have 2 eggs that are fertile. So, of the 46 eggs I have 35 viable eggs left in the incubator. What are the odds of having them all hatch and getting a 99% hatch rate for a first timer!

Ok, wishful thinking, I know they won't all make it but it would be really cool if they did!

Looks like I had 2 die ,most of the viens are now gone in them...
They was moving around alot the day before then its like over night they died..
so I still have 4 more and lots more in the other bator due to hatch in 20 days and more on the way....

Question

It's so hot outside today (90's) that my broody hen had to go outside for awhile to cool herself off. Is that bad news for her eggs? She got so far... they were due to hatch next weekend.
