When will this rain and cold stop so I can put these babies in a lovely brooder OUTSIDE? I guess I shouldn't complain as some are still dealing with snow on the ground. Gotta keep the babies warm and happy.

New to forum. Hello all.
Moved them out of the garage tonight and into the bathroom. Supposed to stay cold and get snow this weekend in VA. I'm to nervous to even keep them in the insulated garage.

Lovin these precious chicks.

LOL! Somehow I knew you were going to be from CA! We've had the wettest weather since I can remember here. I've also got my new babaies in the tub. They would have froze out in the coop. I worry about my big girls every minute of everyday....

Our house is a 1.5 bathroom, so we need the tub! lol

For two days I had my baby chicks in their brooder in my carport. All was well, but temps dipped way back down so they are currently in their brooder in my front living room until it warms back up and isn't as windy!

What cute lil' peepers! I too hav mine in the house. I clean their booder every three days and they seem quite content. I couldn't bear to bring them out, heatlamp or not. I'm waiting for the snow to melt enough to build their coop. I already have it built (modular, in my garage). I just have to carry out the sections and screw it all together.

UGH! I have 16 x 3wo LF chickies in my spare room and I want them OUT!!!

I've only raised 6 banties in there before and they were fine but oh my these guys love to poop! I'd planed for them to be spending their days outside by now but the weather has turned cold and rainy on me. Unfortunately there is no power outside and DH wasn't keen to run power out to the shed before but now I'm raising babies in the house he's seriously considering it.

Your chickes are cuties.

Mine are in that ugly duckling 1/2 feathered stage. Can't wait for them to get dressed and ship out to the teen pen outside.

'Course by then I'll have the next batch in the 'bator!

I tried to put them in a refrigerator box in the dog run under our carport with two lamps, but lost three of the little ones by the time I got home from work

So into the bathtub they went and they now are thriving

. They are staying there till I can be sure they will be warm and comfy in my temporary disposable brooder. That may be a couple weeks the way things are going. I clean them every night to keep down the smell,

but they are sooooo worth it.

Glad to know I'm not the only spring crazy chickie person with bathtub babies.

I had 'bathtub chicks' last year.....

At 3 weeks they went out to the closed coop with a heatlamp........

Have 4 baby chicks again....right now they are in a rubbermaid brooder.....but they will most likely be 'Tub-chicks' too!

I have 16 chicks that look to be the same age as yours in my basement....I've got a 110 gallon water tank thingy that I bought at TSC, and I use it for a brooder. I've never had this many chicks at one time before and they get stinky quick!

So I have to change those wood shavings quite frequently.....

I have a small 4x8 room in my chicken coop that I use for storeage, and I think I'll move the whole chick brooder out there, and put two heat lamps in there for them......Hopefully that will work....I'll probably give them another week in the basement though.....Just to be safe.......

God love 'em, they are soooo cute!
