Anyone else have to work today?

Someone has to be here all the time. I work in transit, so when the buses run we are open. We all picked what days we would work and which ones to take off, so this is my own fault.

But I get the day after Christmas off!!!

But I remember what I was doing on your birthday...freezing to death at a football game where we got beat by the team that is now playing for the state title, after 2 hour drive home, left for an 8 hour overnight trip to Indianapolis for a wedding the next day! I don't know why we come in the day after either. We are never busy this time of year, especially right after a major holiday. It will be even worse the day after Christmas...

Well, we have to be here in case someone needs a bus pass or a disabled ID, or something like that. Plus we are the overseers of the operations side, so they come to us with stupid questions all the time.

I'm at work, but we're busy. Last week the cancelled everyone's vacation time for the rest of the year because they need us to work on this big project. So, we're working 10 hour days and some Saturdays (we're normally not allowed to work Saturdays). So, I have 3 hours and 20 minutes to go to finish out my 10 hour day today.

Edited to correct the time I have left here today... apparently doing tedious paperwork has diminished my ability to perform simple math!

At least you are busy. We have been listening to music, playing on the computer and talking to each other about how boring it is.

Oh believe me, I am thankful to be busy!

I would just rather be busy doing my normal job rather than having to push those responsibilities to the back burner so I can work on something else. Oh well, I have to do what I'm told.

yup. I didnt mind too much though.
Then my dh called and told me that the kids pedi was closed, so it was the ER or nothing. Yay!! I left work an hour early to go to the ER and felt freaking terrible about leaving work early.
What is wrong with me????

HAHAHA! You are ill my friend. We still have 90 minutes left and the boss never did call to send us home early. I think he forgot he made us work.....

My poor hubby went in to work at 5.30am and won't be home until 11pm or later
