Anyone else in Castro Valley?

Hi, I hope I'm posting in the right area, anyways, my name is Chien Li, and I've just moved over to Castro Valley from San Leandro. We're in the midst of renovating our home and once we get settled, we're going to get chickens!!!!!

I'm super excited, but I'm not sure where to start. I know that there is a neighbor that has a rooster, but I don't want to go around knocking door to door asking if they're the rooster keeper.
Anyone else in or around Castro Valley?

I do! I'm over up in the Briar Ridge area, and have been keeping chickens for about 4 or 5 years now. I know that a house right by Independent school has a flock.
