I have raised Saxony for years and just love them. They are truly handsome birds. They are also excellent layers and keep up with my Indian Runners on making sure my incubators stay full.

I currently have Welsh Harlequins, and I have turned in an order to Holderread's for some more WH's (TSQ), and also for some TSQ Saxonies. I just thought they were so much prettier than the Silver Appleyards. I can't wait for them to get here!!

Hi Yes we have had 7 beautiful saxony ducklings born 1st July and they are growing up really fast. We are new to having ducks and was wondering how to sex them and when we need to worm them and if there is anything else we need to give them.

I have 10 Saxony babies. They are 3 1/2 weeks old today. They are beautiful. Do NOT know the sex yet. ONE is very dark gray and is getting copper highlights. The others are all lighter and getting copper highlights as well. They are so smart and agile. Today they got to play in the bigger pond for the first time. I would love to know how to sex them at this age as well. But I guess time will tell. We have 4 lovely Pekins that are 9 weeks old and I know that their is ONE girl for sure. Not sure about the rest. Guess I will just have to enjoy them being babies while it lasts.

I had Saxonies until last week when the last one was killed

We had the last duckling w/the Rouan mom in what we thought was a closed area, but there was a small hole that something got thru & killed the duckling, although the mama seems fine. Building a stronger pen!

But I'd like to get more Saxony Ducks. Is there anyone near Herkimer NY that has them?

Mine are my favorites. More personality than other breeds and stunning to look at.

We have 8 saxony ducks. We love them. They will let you pet their back as they stand right next to you. They eat from your hand. They will climb in your lap if feeding treats off the ground. The females honk and the males have a raspy quack. The ducks do not have gray heads only the drakes will get gray on their head. They are a large breed. We have had a calm drake and currently have an aggressive drake. We plan to hatch and keep another drake and hope he will be calm. Their beautiful plumage lasts for such a short period which is a bummer, but we still love them.
