Anyone else waiting for ducks to hatch?????

I'm so sorry, Mer... :/ You only had the one egg? Can you tell me what the temp/humidity was?
I have a still air bator, so the temp was about 102-103 degrees all day, and the humidity was about 45% . . . I tried REALLY hard to get it to 50% . . . but my bator wouldn't do it . . . :| I broke open the dead egg and looked at the embryo, and, maybe this happened when I broke the egg, but the embryo was detached from the cord thing (I don't know what it's called). :| I felt really bad, like maybe I did something wrong and killed it. :( Maybe next time. Yes, I only had one egg.

That's way too hot. I don't know if the chalaza being broken had anything to do with it since you said it may have happened when you broke the egg, but it's the temp spike that probably killed it. :(

I'm so sorry, Meredith.

Well, the temperature wasn't way too hot. It's good to keep still air incubators at 101. I'm so sorry you lost your only one :( hopefully next time will be better. why did you only have one?

But if it's at 103 for 8-12 hours, that's a different story. :/

Surely 1 or 2 degrees wouldn't do that much damage. Now 4, 6, or 8 I would understand.

1. It can, and does, especially during early stages of development. 2. It's still-air. What reads as 103 on a thermometer could be even hotter in other places within the bator.
