But I have eight more in the incubator, six have visible veins but the others look clear. Due to hatch on the 30th of August!
How's it going? Mine are due tomorrow too, I have one pipped already!

Four hatched yesturday! I think my timing is out ahha! One wasn't developing and now one is left! I'm not sure what to do with it though? I'm scared that when I opened the incubator to get the chicks out into the brooder, this one chick was vacuumed?
Good luck with your chicks!!!

thanks u 2. I had 13 eggs 5 from a fridge and 8 from a farm, all the farm eggs hatched. the fridge eggs looked to have stopped developing on day 15. that is okay I only want healthy chicks. they were mystery chicks, 4 tan eggs 4 blue, hatched out 3 yellow gold, 3 with stripes, and 2 dark chicks.

One of my white stars has gone broodie. I have 9 Appenzeller eggs under her now. Only on day 3, so a while to go yet. The 16 mixed batch are all doing well, now 3 weeks old this weekend and the brahmas are now 8 weeks old and I think they are all pullets. Not sure on the mixed htch yet, although not many are combing yet.

I am starting to think vaccumed chicks are actually chicks that stopped developing and didn't have anything to do with the lockdown. people want an explanation as to why a chick didn't hatch. My chicks that had not hatched in the past had 2 much water left in the egg and I dry hatch. too much water and undeveloped chicks mean the bator had a cold spot.- for me anyway.

Well my bargain tray of eggs from the auction may not have been such a bargain. It was 11 cream legbar and 19 mixed bantam eggs (I paid £2.80)
I had 4 of the legbar eggs hatched and one other.
2 pipped at the pointy end and needed help. 2 chicks are black, 2 yellow and 1 grey - funny looking legbars! The last one to hatch needed a lot of help and is quite disabled! It has a badly crossed beak, deformed skull and only one eye. I have decided not to cull at this stage as it is looking so healthy otherwise, and although I have dipped its beak I have yet to see any of them eat or drink independently. As long as it manages to feed itself I will keep it, but I won't be breeding from it!

Send a pic please I once had a disabled chick it had giant eyes 9 toes deformed beak and no wing on the right side and guess what I still have that chicken today
