Anyone else's eggs hatching soon?

Hi, anyone near Buxton, England? I have successfully hatched 4 brahmas sat by a mockled star, now 4 weeks old, doing really well with mum in run within the main shed, and all are poulets! (I think) plus 23 eggs in an incubator due to hatch next Sunday. Mixed eggs, welsummer, red mockled leghorn, and French copper blue and black marans. I hope I will be able to tell the difference when they hatch. I have removed the eggs that have nothing developing, so I am hoping the remaining will hatch ok. Happy hatching everyone!

I'm probably nearer to you than many on here, at least I am in England! Way down south in Wiltshire though.
My latest batch in the incubator were really badly treated by royal mail. I am on day 15 I think I have 3 viable out of 12 :(
Not sure about your leghorns but you should easily be able to tell the welsummers from the marans. In theory I think both are sex-able at day old too (although I never seem to get it right!)

At last, a picture! Those A&Ms are sooo cute!
Awwww they are gorgeous!!

Good luck!

I live in Royal Leamington Spa, so I'm about 3hours away from you!

There doesn't seem to be many of us Brits on here, but I have not found anything else so informative than this one. How do you sex then so early? I managed to sex the brahmas by using the wing feather method. They are 4 weeks old now and no combs are showing yet so I think I have got it right! It would be nice to be able to sex the new hatchlings early on s I can plan on how many to sell and how many to keep.

I agree, this forum is amazing. So much information and support on here.
Welsummers have "chipmunk stripes" on their backs and eyeliner if they are girls, markings much less defined in the boys. If this fails then when they feather up if they have solid brown chests they are girls, if there is any black in the chest feathers they are boys, this can be seen around 3-4 weeks.
Marans are mostly black/dark grey to start with, the boys have a lovely clear yellow spot on their head.
Good luck with your hatch, mine are due next weekend too so hope we can share pictures then.

Well i have reached day 19, this fancy little app I have says day 20, coz it must count the day I set the eggs as day one, but anyway, before the weekend is out I should hopefully have some chicks. There are now 21 eggs in the incubator as I candled them again before lockdown and removed another 2 that were empty. I think all the others have something in. Just getting very nervous and excited now and I want to peep at them all the time! I am resisting the temptation to open the incubator! Wish me luck folks!!!

I make mine day 20, I am down to 3 eggs (they were well and truly scrambled by royal mail). Anyhow, two are pipping!!
