Anyone ever do an oil painting of their chicken?

or am I the only crazy one?

I had an oil painting on canvas done when I visited Vietnam (they are famous for their oil paintings). This is a painting of my rooster (a Cochin) when he was young.

thanks! I have the painting outside my cubicle. I get strange looks from people as they walk by- not sure what to make of it as this is a professional office complex.

I'm a part-time artist and I completely understand the desire for a portrait of a beloved pet;)

Here's my rooster, Butterball, all grown up. Although it's not the most flattering of pictures. I had to give all my chickens a bath because they had all kinds of bugs on them and I was trying to be organic and not use chemicals.

His name is Butterball because he's got lots of feathers and he has a very round appearance, like a turkey (hence Butterball Turkeys). He doesn't look so tough in a bucket of water. He is a very sweet and gentle bird however.

Beautiful painting!

I'm amazed at how calm some chickens are when put in warm water.

Chickens are one of my most requested portraits to do, i love doing them- i love the one you had done and have seen even the toughest attitudes melt when put in warm water...:)
