Anyone ever had an agressive female quail?

I just divided up breeding groups and had one really feisty female. I put her in group with bigger birds that can defend themselves against the little witch.

Some of my favorite girls are the feisty ones. LOL If I ate all the crazy girls, I would no longer be entertained when I enter my aviaries. LOL

LOL! You hear about people culling for personality trait issues. Just wondering! But it does make for an interesting time with the girls.

Oh yeah....she was showing YOU who is in charge of the flock! And it's funny because they really think they are bigger than you and could take you down. Little do they know just how much more power we do have. LOL

Coming up on 10 years. I can't believe it has been this long....

Yep that's a long time! Do you have a lot of birds?

Not anymore. I used to have so many I was unable to count! LOL

3 large aviaries, a 10x30 foot for breeding pairs of one type of quail, a 10x20 for another type of breeding quail, and a 10x10 as a grow out pen for assorted types of quail. I also kept rabbit hutches with odd sorted other quail as well. LOL

However now I am down to only a large handful in the 10x10. I have been concentrating on chickens these past few years and because they take up so much more of my time, I have let my quail population dwindle.

I also want to get into pheasants, possibly next spring. So the 10x30 will be given over to them.

How many quail do you keep and how do you keep them?
