Anyone ever have Pet Sematary happen to them?

I can’t remember. I no longer keep track of such things relating to the free-range flock. That flock is totally on its own. Wild, except that they happen to roost in my farmyard. I don’t even feed them anymore except as a rare treat. I don’t pay much attention to what lives and dies until they get grown and even then I only notice certain ones. I do a head count every so often and punish my dogs when they eat one. That’s about the extent of my interaction with them. I cannot say whether this one lived on or not.
Thank you!

I did once have a wyandotte that seemed to have electrocuted herself on a live wire. No breath that I could see. I threw her on my ATV to bait a varmint trap with and she revived and went to running and squawking.

That was also the only time I’ve seen adult chickens appear to provide care for each other. The other wyandottes surrounded her that night as she roosted on the ground and it reminded me of a herd of bovines surrounding a calf as if to guard her.

It happened to me today. This morning in one of my chick brooders I found a sickly chick. Lethargic and emaciated in spite of having plenty of food. I cull for any sign of sickness, so I rung its neck, nearly pulling its head off in the process. I threw it out in the bushes for my dogs to eat.

Hours later, its walking around fine. Better acting now that it was this morning. Figuring its not its day to die, I caught it and returned it to the brooder.

Surely I failed to break its neck. But I cannot imagine how I didn’t.

Anyone else have that happen?
thats seriously freaky, this is actually crazy.
