Anyone ever see a black chicken egg? (pic posted now)

Ok I think I got it to load. I took the pic with my cell phone. I think it looks fake but I am going to put it in the incubator & see what happens. Her poultry project is going to check it out too.
Thank you for the help to load the pic. I cant remember who told me but thank you instead of the other comments.

instructions were posted, and very good ones. I don't think anyone was being rude. Having been on this forum for awhile I find many are friendly and genuinely interested in the posts of others. This good natured teasing happens often here, I got quite a laugh out of Mahonri's "picher".

Yes hatch that baby out and see what it comes out of.

Personally I never saw a black egg like that! Let us know if she got another one like it!

That is one strange egg. Have all your girls been laying up till now? Like it's just a fluke, not one of them suddenly starting laying and she's going to be a black egg layer, for some reason? That's really interesting and strange.

I cant wait to see what is in the nest box tomorrow. Her americanas have taken forever to lay so I have joked that the color went bad in an americana. lol. We just started getting green eggs saturday (3/6/2010). The hens are close to a year old. I was ready to get rid of them til now.

Its from the Cayuga duck..(they lay black eggs.. )..awesome egg!!

On my monitor, that's a life-size photo---the hand is the same size as my hand, but the egg is almost twice the size of my large eggs. I'm thinking duck egg.
