Anyone ever use these?

Please be carefull with One Bite. It is still active after the rodent dies and will effect other animals that eat the critter.
I had a cat get poisoned from it and trust me the Vit K ( potassium ) shots are not cheap.

Be especially carefull with it around children, Some think its an energy bar untill they get it in their mouths .
Cassi did that at 3years of age, to this day we dont know where she got it from as we didnt use it at the time.
she came to me saying bar bar tastes funny, thankfull she had the wrappings with her, rushed her to the ER where they shot her up with potassium. had to do that for 3 weeks, constant blood work and shots.

One Bite can be very dangerous, PLEASE handle and use with caution.

You could try the "5 gallon bucket of death".

Fill a 5 gallon bucket 1/2 or 2/3 full of water.

Put a piece of wood like a 2X4 across the top/opening and along the sides as ramps.

Put of heavy layer of sunflower seeds in the water, the seeds will float and it will look like a bucket of sunflower seeds.

The mice, chimpmunk, rat, etc will jump in the bucket to get the sunflowers and then drown because they will not be able to get out.

Just make sure there is a good gap between the top and the water level so they dont get out. You can use a bigger bucket if you like.

Cheap and easy. Good luck!

I have a client who has used two of those traps for over a year and has yet to catch anything. There is something "sticky" about the little entrance ramp. The mouse is supposed to walk up the ramp and enter the trap, but it's too tight or too springy -- the mouse would have to be a real bruiser to get in.

Some one said in a different post that if you have mice, you don't have rats. Something about the are territorial and won't live together. That trap is not that expencive. And you said you've seen quite a few. Just buy it. Let us know how it works.

That's what I've always heard, mice=no rats....but we have mice (I've seen them) and we have rats (the dog has killed a few), so apparently our rodents don't know they aren't supposed to cohabitate.

I don't like the bucket idea, I have too many hens with bitties right now, and I'm afraid the chicks will also get in the bucket

All my birds free-range, so it's impossible to put it where they can't get to it.

I'll be getting one of these traps just as soon as I can. All these mice outside will soon be trying to get inside!!

I have never used it myself but it seems like it would work pretty well. I would just make sure though that since it's a live trap you would have to make sure that you put them/release them far enough away so that they can't find their way back home. Also it doesn't mention anything about bait and says "you don't have to bait it although peanut butter may help" but I don't get why the mice would ever want to go into a metal box basically a death trap to them if there was nothing in it to entice them in so I would put grain or peanut butter or some kind of "food" in it so that they will be attracted to it. Good luck.

Yep - I use them in the basement and they do work good. I just sprinkle some scratch grains in there and set it alongside the wall. Have caught numerous mice/moles.
