They have been growing so fast. All have pretty much lost their down and have feathered out great. We plan on getting them outside soon and integrated with the older girls.

Just verified my order for next week. It is our yr to rotate flocks. I order from Schlecht Hatchery in IA as they are close enough to me in ND to feel comfortable about them shipping. I have 50 tried and true egg layers, 20 black sex link, 20 isa browns and 10 speckled sussex along with 75 cornish cross meat birds coming. I also have 27 in my incubator to also hatch next week (same day as my order will hatch so they are all the same age)... my incubator group will be a complete mix!... I currently have 62 hens, which are a mix of Light brahma's, buff rocks, silver laced windottes (sp), isa browns, americaunas, one lankashin (sp), White leghorn mixes, red leghorns, barred rocks and australorps! I think that is all! LOL I have 2 roos, one is a White leghorn mix (think he is mixed with an Isa brown roo) and the other is a mystery bird I recieved from McMurry Hatchery (went together with a cousin 3 yrs ago, and that is where she wanted to order from, but they are also in IA) and was a "special rare breed" and I believe it is an "old English" Roo. He is beautiful! .... I lost my Aussie Roo this fall at 6 1/2 yrs old. He became special to me after he survived a dog attack and lost all his tail feathers during that attack, which never grew back, thus he lost his dignity and became my "house roo", as in he spent all his time up by the house pretty much alone, but got special treats from me. Good luck to all!

WOW Sandiejo...How the Heck do you know which is which? Especially as chicks. Do you band them? I have 14 right now that are almost 3 weeks old, a mix of R.I. Reds and Swedish Flowers. 3 of them are pure Swedes. 33 more in the incubator of all Swedish. And then I will fill it up (48) Eggs next week after this hatch is complete. That will give me a total of around 100 Chickens if most hatch. My "Big Birds" now are 4 R.I. Reds, and 8 Swedish Flower Hens, two of them being absolutely beautiful Roosters. One Rooster is for sale, and I live in S. Tennessee. I will be selling baby chicks too. Straight run.
The coolest thing with Swede's are, you never know what to expect. Some have Crowns, some don't. Either White legs or Yellow. Every color of the rainbow. It's fun to wait for the hatch and see what I get. Good luck with all that you are doing! Keeps you busy!

My chicks from Meyer hatched and have shipped! Anyone else waiting for their chicks this week? I would love to hear about what you're expecting and see pictures when they arrive!
I'm getting a lavender orpington, a crested cream legbar, a blue laced red wyandotte, and a dominique. I was originally going to get them in 2 weeks, but they had all of my breeds available today so I nabbed them! The dominique was an impulse addition this morning. If one dies I'll still have 3 and we want 3-4.
They can arrive anytime between Tuesday and Thursday, but I'm going to guess Wednesday. We'll see if I'm right.
I’m.going to be ordering my chicks in 3 weeks, we are moving, and I am SO excited! I am also getting my chicks from Meyers but I’m planning on driving over and picking them up as we are only about an hour and half away. Can’t wait to see your chicks

No chicks today. We'd ordered the chicks way back, said not until after April 8th, as we had to get the brooder plate. They eventually called us and said we could get them on the 24th. We went in last week and said wait, that's a Wednesday, are you sure about that? Because you told us you usually get chicks on Thursday? They said oh yeah. So today we were there - no new chicks for us. They *had* gotten in turkey poults, and the delivery guy said he didn't have the invoice for them, that would come tomorrow with the chickens. So hopefully tomorrow.

Prolly just as well the few chicks they had were a good bit older, or I might have tossed out my planned breeds and just gone home with three whatever! Getting impatient.
Tell me this wasn’t Meyers
