Anyone familiar with DENAGARD ??

i know this is a few months old- what is the dosage with denagard? i have two birds with crd or mg, they are on tylan, wondered if denagard would be better?

The info i have is 25-50 mg per Kg or each 2.2lbs body weight daily of the 10% premix. It can be given with tetracycline at the same time to give a synergistic boost. They say it is very bitter tasting, and you may have to flavor it to get them to drink it.

right now one of them is only taking drops on her beak, the little roo is doing better, but poor Dora is really struggling- will add the denagard to the meds then-

There are threads here on byc if you search denagardat the top of the page--many suggest putting the medicated water into food to get them to drink it since it is so bitter, ansd some suggest honey.

Denagard treats mycoplasma diseases. There is an initial treatment dose and a monthly preventative dose.
The treatment dose is 16cc's denagard per gallon of water for 3-5 days.
The monthly preventative dose is 8cc's per gallon of water for 3-5 days.
There is no egg withdrawal, 3 days slaughter withdrawal. Do not mix ACV or meds into the mixture. It is bitter, some people add karo syrup to it. It can be added to feed to make a mash for birds to eat. I recommend leaving the mixture out for them to drink being their sole source of water to drink for the 3-5 days.

i do have denagard, so have shifted to it tinite, and an oxine vapor treatment- they both have very thick mucous issues, hopefully the denagard will kick i quickly- thanks for your help-

By all means, mist your birds with oxine while they're on denagard. Aggressive treatment in this particular situation is best. Your other option is to cull.

ok, also, i am hand feeding the denagard, how often should i be doing that? i am using an eyedropper full at a time

1 Tablespoon to 1 gallon of water. Add honey!
