Anyone from Louisiana?

Hi Ruth - I thought about having it at my sister's house in Kentwood, which is approx. 60 miles from you. (I thought about the MS people that had an interest in the LA Chickenstock) The problem with that is that it is so far for the people in SW LA to come all that way. (It would be approx. 3 1/2 to 4 hours for them to get there.) I thought about it being somewhere between Baton Rouge and Lafayette so that it would be somewhat of an equal distance between MS and TX. We also have a couple of people from TX that are interested in a LA Chickenstock.

I don't know how well it is going to go over with the gas prices going up almost every day. I really would like to have one, it is just a problem finding the place that is a fair distance for all to come.

I am still looking into finding a good place, but my not being familiar with that area makes it more difficult for me to find a good place over there.

I don't know if it was BeckyLa or BayouChica but they told me about it last year, we did not get to make it. I want to this year. I believe it is in September and it is in Dubach, La, you can find it on the cities website they have it on there and probably if you put in chicken festival in la. you can find there too.

that is funny, i am laughing because i am half way through with paula deen's autobiography and she talks about praying for a "neighbor" and she later meets her husband! I prayed to meet a good man too! he just happened to work offshore so that is interesting and sad sometimes because i miss him so when he is gone!!!

Hi and welcome supdude. I know where Metairie is at. I used to go throw darts in Metairie, among other places...lol
Definitely not country, but as long as your chickens are happy and well cared for, then that is all that matters.
