I'm new here too and in Kansas City, MO and expecting my first chick order from "My Pet Chicken" on June 7th. Very excited and can't wait!

Thanks! Ava is an hour SE of Springfield. Small town. We moved out here from L.A. but I'm originally from OK. So I'm back to my roots.... Interesting going from a little plot of land with the neighbors FEET away from us to 20 parklike acres!

We had chickens when I was a child. All I remember is just that they were fun to watch and good to eat. Now I'm learning the details. We're still building the coop. All that's left is the run and the roost. Nice big shack for the ladies. The MFA we ordered them from lost our roosters. So we're scoping out one. Hoping to get one soon.

Welcome!! We were just in Ava this morning to buy some Pilgrim Goslings, plus we came home with a wonderful poultry/guard dog! Lady down there has wonderful stock. She has guineas in all colors, geese and chickens. very nice people. Of course, I told her about BYC.
