Sounds like you have a real nice place. I bet you will find a place for all of those chicks. Keep us posted on you poults. I would like to see pics of them. I have 18 Narrgansette turkeys due in a few days. Can't wait. New babies are sooo exiciting.

hello everyone!! how did yall fair the wicked storm lastnight? hope everyones babys r ok

violent storms hit us this morning around 6a.m. We faired better than Ava, MO which is about 25 miles south of us. Wind was really something, we went out on the porch to watch it. We live on top a ridge and when the fronts come over ...it makes a believer out of you. We have very old oak trees in our yard and they shed limbs in every storm but surprisingly enough not a one dropped this morning. Looked like the trees in the woods were all bent over, it was something to witness but all is well here in Mansfield.​

We got a lot of rain during the night but evidently it was not too much b/c we had just seeded about 1/2 and acre around our new "shouse" (shop/house) and when we went down to check on it today we didn't have any big washed out areas. Feel kinda bad worrying about erosion and grass seed w/all the storm troubles they had elsewhere.

Happy birthday to me-- I turned 37 today. My husband cooked strip steaks for dinner and I fried up a couple skilletfuls of morels my mom brought over-- I am a terrible mushroom hunter but my mom is awesome.

Gus- we need some photos of your menagerie!

We got a lot of wind the last couple days, but I don't know if that was from the storm system or just good old Missouri wind. Honestly, I moved here 8 years and 3 months ago and I have never lived in a more windy place! I'm almost afraid the chickens are going to be blown right out of the run.

We had a beautiful weekend here at Mansfield, after the storms last week. There were some trees blown down right in town, but we live south and only had rain.

We went to the annual spring celebration at Baker Creek Seeds this afternoon and saw some unusual chickens. Nice, but I think ours are the beauties! I did get some good pictures of the fine turkeys that I haven't gotten off of the camera.

Four eggs today, including a green one. They all seem to be settling in well.

Looks like you Mansfield folks are neighbors........

I live south of Ava about 7 miles. All we got was alot of wind about 6am Friday morning, but after going into Ava Friday afternoon they had alot of trees down and damage on their town square, I think some homes further east had damage, however I didn't go over there.

We were without power most of Friday with rural electric, but I think Ava did not get power back until Sat. nite.........

Glad to see you "neighbors"..........I have 7 sex link pullets (black & red) and 1 roo that are 8 weeks old.

Yes, I am a Mansfield person, too.

We went into Ava yesterday afternoon to Wally World and went up to the square to see the damage. T.V. did not do it justice, so sorry for the Ava folks.

Was wondering if any of you close Mansfield folks would be interested in a RRI roo who is 8 weeks old? I ended up with him as an extra and I have to find a home for him.

I would be glad to meet in Ava later this week.
