I have a boil over my left eye, and it hurts a lot. It does not have a head, it is really hard and red. I went to the doctor and she gave me antibiotics and is sending me to a plastic surgeon on Monday. She said to use warm compresses and not to poke or prod at it. Monday though is a long time, and did I mention it hurts alot? Anyone have any home remedies to make it better sooner?

Ouch!

I have never had any- but I hope you feel better soon. I don't know if there is really a "good place" to get a boil- but over your eye has to be awful!

You could try a drawing potion, like Prid or Black Salve (Icthammol ointment) with a small bandaid over it. The boil will come to a head and feel much better when it breaks. Your doctor made a good call with the plastic surgeon, after all it is your face.

Just be careful because it is on your eye. A lot of remedies are pretty caustic. The first thing that came to my mind was a baking soda paste.

If its on your forehead ,
peel a raw potato and grate it into
mash onto a large strip of cloth
tie it around ur head to hold the mashed raw potato
on your boil, it will draw it to open.

Putting warm compresses on them really help. I'm not sure if a plastic surgeon is necessary, most of them heal and leave a small mark which fades over time.

When this one heals, really check yourself over to make sure you're not getting another one. You want to be sure it's just a boil and not a staph infection.
