Anyone give their chickens bird seed?

I throw a handful in once in awhile and they love it. It's the kind with cracked corn, sunflower seeds and a few other things. They enjoy it and we like to watch them looking for it.

Mine love it too. In the fall I give them suet cakes with the seeds, the kind you put out for the wild birds and they LOVE that. It helps to fatten them up for the cold winter too.

I do give them birdseed (or, as the chickens call it, "Crack"). But sometimes they just forge ahead and get it themselves.
