Anyone going to have eggs hatch in novemeber?

Blue eggs are always hard to candle- it's because the colour is all through the shell, not just a thin layer on the outside of the egg
like other coloured eggs.

I have no problem seeing in the shell of the blues. The dark browns I have trouble seeing in side of. One of my blues has the ring of death :( But I didnt expect much of it because in shipping the mail man drop kicked the box or something. It showed up dripping egg goo. I am actually shocked that so many of these eggs survived that treatment.
I was expecting at most to get 3 or 4 out of the 2 1/2 dozen eggs. Only 23 eggs made it to the incubator. two of those had slight cracks i didn't see until i candled them. One of those eggs that is cracked is developing normal.
Several of the eggs have detached air cells :(
I am happy that I have this many that are possibly going to hatch. I'm getting excited. I cannot wait to see what the babies look like. To see how many actually hatch. I'm not taking any out except the ring of death one. If i can't see anything in it then it can stay for now. Mostly I want a blue egg to hatch. I want it to be a pullet. I want to be able to have different colors of eggs being collected at my and my moms houses. I would love to give my neighbors some eggs and have at least one blue egg in it. Their son would be all excited and interested in that. Because they seem to think there are brown eggs and white because that is what is in the stores.

Just had 10 Silkies hatch over the weekend! :) So excited! I have 4 white, 1 red, 1 splash, 2 blue, and 2 black! One of the whites needed help out of the egg, but is now doing fine. The Splash hatched with splay leg, but I'm treating it and it is doing well! Good luck on the Nov. hatches everyone! By spring they'll all be laying!!!
congrats on your hatch , wow nice bunch of colours you have

I got my candler today!!! Can't wait to go home and look at my eggs... Unfortuantely, I have to teach two dog training classes tonight before I can go home...

Ameraucanas, and no i don't play xbox. lol, I just call it the red ring of death because it's a red ring and means they died.

I thought the same thing when you said 'red ring of death'. I've got a few teenagers in the house and one thing I never want to hear is 'MOM.....MY XBOX HAS THE RED RING OF DEATH!!!'. This is usually followed up by several days/weeks of frustration and repairs.

I candled last night....again (I really need to stop). Of my original 10 eggs hatched I've pulled 2. One was not fertile and the other didn't develop past a couple of days. So now there are 8 and I don't think 4 of those are good. I was able to see one hopping around in there so that was pretty exciting. At least I know something is growing.

i will not candle tonight i will not candle tonight i will not candle tonight.....

if anyone else wants to be added please let me know what you're incubating and the estimated hatch date......i'll gladly update the list and add you to it. a listing of all hatchers is easier to keep up with who's hatching what and when they're hatching...

good luck with all hatchings....

I got my candler today!! We got home pretty late, but I couldn't resist checking out a few eggs... I checked 3 of Prim's eggs. They should be at day 7. I could clearly see embrionic movement!!! It was SO cool!! I had the kids come down to the coop so I could show them. I did 2 of Butterscotch's eggs. Hers are only at day 5, but I could see some good veins, and we thought we saw some faint movement as well. Tomorrow, I'm going to take a notebook out and candle all of the eggs and record what we see... This is just way too much fun!!!

oh my gosh... I'm such a chicken geek... What a dork... (I use that word as a term of endearment. I used to call my wonderful late husband a dork all the time. I even have a charm on my bracelet that says "I love dorks")
