Anyone going to have eggs hatch in novemeber?

My broody hen taking a quick break from setting... she tells me when to take the lid off the brooder so she can stretch/poo/eat/drink...so funny! Chicks are due saturday/sunday!! So excited!! I'm expecting twins out of one of the copper marans eggs!

Is she potty trained? I hope my husband doesn't see this he keeps worrying about our hens being outside for winter and wanting to bring them in. I keep telling him we do not need to bring them in the house that they are fine.

Hi everyone! I've been quiet, but every day I come home from work to my hubby hogging the computer

My 5 remaining eggs still all have movement in them and the little ones are huge - Almost filling the entire egg! I'm so egg-cited!! Lockdown starts tomorrow for me and hatch day should be Sunday!!! But with all the temperature rises and drops I've been having during incubation, I won't be surprised if they hatch a little late... But we'll have to see since their development seems right on track.

I adopted 4x day-old chicks on Monday - can I put my new chicks in the same brooder with them when they hatch or is it best to keep them seperate?

Congrats on everyone's hatches

How many do you have living inside? Do you use incubators?
I only have one in the house...havent needed incubators because my hens keep going broody so I decide to have them earn their keep and hatch chicks :)... a friend and I are going to be using an incubator on sunday to set 42 eggs though!! this is for a test mating of a ton of different breeds:)... it'll be interesting and we probably will just find homes for all the chicks... they make great christmas presents!! ;)..lol

I think I'm the one potty trained with her :)...chickens have the BEST insulation around(think down comforter) and will do fine in almost every temp...just look for frostbite and do research on how to prevent it :)...

way to go everyone...... good luck to all still in lockdown or still watching the temps and wringing your hands for the rest of the period.....LOL
good luck and sending good vibes your way. mine will be in lockdown the 23rd.
